SPECIAL ORDERS & PLANT SOURCING
The plant you can’t find anywhere else? That’s where we begin.
From a single rare specimen to a forest’s worth of trees, Sequoia Valley Farms sources, consolidates and delivers plants from an accredited network across Australia — including the interstate and biosecurity logistics most nurseries won’t touch.
More than a nursery. A plant-sourcing service.
Most nurseries will order in a plant for an existing customer. Very few will source from suppliers in four different states, consolidate it into a single shipment, navigate the biosecurity rules between them, and deliver the lot to your gate. That coordination is the service — the plants are just the beginning.
It often starts with one plant: a species you can’t find, a specimen larger than the shops carry, or a whole project that needs sourcing and coordinating. Through an accredited supplier network that reaches every state, we can find almost anything that can be legally grown and moved — and take the logistical weight off your shoulders.
How It Works
You brief us
Tell us what you’re after — one species or a whole list. No need for exact quantities or specs up front; a sentence is enough to start the conversation.
We source & quote
We find it across our accredited network, work out the smartest route — including consolidating multiple suppliers into one delivery — and come back with a clear quote.
We handle the rest
Sourcing, consolidation, freight, biosecurity, delivery to your gate or a depot near you. You receive healthy plants and one simple arrival.

Windbreaks, signature plantings, an arboretum in the making: we supply rural projects at any scale, project after project.
Forestry & restoration
Timber species and native restoration stock, from tube to advanced, in the volumes your project needs.
Landscapers & designers
Reliable supply to your job site, plus access to the rare specimens that set your schemes apart.
Trusted with the rare, the large and the irreplaceable
Over the past several years we’ve supplied private arboretums, working timber lots, restoration projects and collectors chasing a single tree — across every eastern state.
It began with one enquiry, just months after we opened, from a collector who wanted something larger than anything we stocked. That one plant became a decade-long project — an entire arboretum on ten acres in the Queensland hinterland, drawn from the forests of Asia, North America and Europe.
One collector near Orange wanted a collection no single nursery could supply: Antarctic and Gondwanan species held across four different states. We sourced from Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria and Sydney, consolidated it into one shipment, and delivered it as a single, simple arrival.
Our plants grow in public collections, too — including the Australian National Botanic Gardens, the National Gallery of Australia and the Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens — and behind the scenes at Australia Zoo. The same network that finds one rare specimen for a private collector supplies institutions that can’t afford to get it wrong.
Plants to WA, the NT & Tasmania
We routinely move stock into Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Tasmania — some of the most tightly regulated plant logistics in the country. Just as often, we can source what you’re after from an accredited supplier already inside your state, avoiding the border crossing entirely.
Tasmania in particular is well-trodden ground for us: we can draw on accredited Tasmanian growers, or send stock across on an established certified pathway — whichever lands your plants most simply.
Where treatment is required, it’s carried out by licensed quarantine specialists under your state’s protocol — we prepare and correctly identify your plants, then guide them across.
Sourced through an accredited network
We source only through accredited and certified growers — including NIASA-accredited and BioSecure HACCP-certified suppliers — so every plant arrives healthy, traceable and compliant.
Frequently Asked Questions
In most cases, yes. Our specialty isn’t a single catalogue — it’s the network behind it. If a plant can be legally grown and moved within Australia, we can usually find it through an accredited grower somewhere in the country, then handle the sourcing, consolidation and freight to bring it to you. The plants on our website are a starting point, not the limit.
There's no fixed minimum, but special orders tend to make sense at a certain scale. A single plant is usually worth sourcing when it's something substantial, like an advanced or rare specimen, rather than a one-off tube or small pot, where a minimum spend generally applies. From there, we handle everything up to several hundred trees; then we'll find the smartest way to put it together.
Every special order is quoted individually, because each one is different — the species, the source, the size and format, and the freight all vary. Once you tell us what you’re after, we work out the smartest sourcing route (including consolidating multiple suppliers where it saves cost) and come back with a clear, itemised quote before anything is committed.
Yes. Across the eastern states (NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD, SA) we dispatch through our specialist plant-freight network. For Tasmania, WA and the NT, movement is managed through our Plant Concierge — where required, treatment and inspection are carried out by licensed quarantine specialists under the relevant interstate protocol. Just as often, we can source from an accredited grower already inside your state — in Tasmania especially. Start at the Plant Concierge for these states.
Most nurseries will order a plant in for an existing customer, from a single supplier. Very few will source from multiple growers across different states, consolidate it into one shipment, manage the biosecurity between them, and deliver it to your gate. That multi-supplier coordination — and the willingness to take on the complex interstate logistics — is exactly what we specialise in.
It depends on the plant and the season. Some specimens are on their way within a week or two; others — particularly rare or advanced stock, or anything requiring interstate treatment — take longer and may be tied to the right dispatch window. We’ll give you a realistic timeframe with your quote, and we’ll never rush a plant in a way that compromises its establishment.
Both. Many clients come to us with a problem to solve rather than a fixed list — a windbreak for an exposed paddock, an arboretum in the making, a single tree to commemorate someone. We’re happy to advise on species suited to your climate, site and intent, drawing on years of specialist experience, then source whatever you settle on.
Yes. We supply working timber lots, native restoration projects, acreage plantings and commercial landscape jobs, in formats from tube stock to advanced specimens. Many of these clients return project after project as their plantings expand — we’re set up for staged, repeat supply, not just one-off orders.
