Australian Agathis — the Kauri genus — includes some of the largest and most ancient conifers in the southern hemisphere. Agathis robusta (Queensland Kauri) and Agathis microstachya (Bull Kauri) are relict Gondwana species of conservation significance, their wild range now restricted to far north Queensland. Growing Australian Agathis represents both a horticultural commitment and a contribution to the conservation of an irreplaceable lineage.
