The Colorado Blue Spruce (Picea Pungens Glauca) is one of the most beloved Christmas tree varieties in the world, and for good reason. Native to the Rocky Mountains, its sturdy branches are perfect for holding ornaments, and its dense, symmetrical form provides a breathtaking holiday centrepiece.
While it originates from a cooler climate, the Blue Spruce adapts beautifully to many Australian environments with proper care. Its unique blue hue is a natural characteristic, varying slightly from tree to tree, ensuring the living Christmas tree you receive is one of a kind. As a slow-growing conifer, it’s an excellent candidate for continued life in a decorative pot or as a stunning feature tree in a cooler climate garden, from the Blue Mountains to the Illawarra. It’s an excellent investment beyond the festive season.

After Christmas, gradually re-acclimatise the tree to the outdoors over a week before moving it into full sun. When repotting, choose a high-quality, acidic potting mix and a pot that is only one size larger. For in-ground planting, ensure a well-draining spot with an acidic soil profile and protection from extreme western sun.

Interstate Courier Shipping (300mm Pot Only) Our popular 300mm potted trees can be shipped to all states and territories across Australia.
Shipping to Biosecurity States (WA, TAS, NT) Shipping our living trees to these states is a complex process that requires adherence to strict quarantine laws. We have two pathways to achieve this, depending on stock availability from our network of certified growers.
- If we can source your tree from a certified partner nursery, the process is streamlined, though state government inspection fees may still apply.
- If we need to ship from our own stock, the tree will require a special third-party treatment and certification process, which incurs significant additional costs.
Therefore, we ask all customers in WA, TAS, and NT to please contact us before placing your order.
This allows us to confirm the best and most cost-effective shipping pathway available for you, provide an accurate quote for any additional costs, and ensure a smooth and compliant delivery of your beautiful tree.
