    How long will my Monterey Pine last in the Australian heat?
    Because our Montereys are harvested fresh from the Blue Mountains just days before your delivery, they have exceptional endurance compared to supermarket trees. With a fresh cut on arrival and daily water top-ups, your tree will remain lush and fragrant for 4–5 weeks—perfectly timing it to stay vibrant right through to Christmas Day.
    What is the difference between the Monterey Pine and the Douglas Fir?
    The Monterey Pine is the "Tree of Nostalgia." It has that classic, intense pine perfume that fills the whole house and a dense, bushy shape that hides gaps. The Douglas Fir is the "Tree of Luxury"—it has softer needles, a more open "layered" shape for hanging ornaments, and a subtle citrus scent. If you want the smell of Christmas, choose the Monterey.
    Is the Monterey Pine safe for pets and young children?
    Yes, but with a note. While the needles are not toxic, the Monterey Pine has slightly pricklier foliage than the soft Douglas Fir. If you have very active toddlers or sensitive pets who might brush against it often, we usually recommend the Douglas Fir. However, for most families, the Monterey is perfectly fine and sturdy enough to hold heavier decorations safely.
    Do I need to be home for the delivery?
    Not necessarily. If you have a safe place to leave the tree (like a shaded porch or carport - don’t forget to leave out a bucket of water), our team can leave it for you. However, if you have selected our Expert Setup Service, we strongly recommend being home so our team can position the tree exactly where you want it and ensure it is perfectly straight and secure in your stand.

Our trees are sustainably grown in the cool climate of the Southern Highlands, ensuring they are healthy, beautifully shaped, and exceptionally fresh. The needles are soft to the touch, and the sturdy, layered branches provide the perfect structure for decorating with lights and ornaments.

    Care and Planting Guide

    Keeping your fresh-cut tree in pristine condition is all about one thing: water! A fresh tree is a thirsty tree.

     

    1. The First Cut is Crucial: As soon as you get your tree home, you must take a thin slice (2-3cm) off the bottom of the trunk. When a tree is cut, sap seals the base within hours, preventing it from absorbing water. This fresh cut reopens the trunk’s pores.
    2. Immediate Hydration: Place the tree in a water-holding stand immediately after making the cut. Fill the stand with fresh, plain tap water.
    3. Water, Water, Water: Check the water level daily. For the first few days, your tree can drink several litres of water a day. Never let the water level drop below the base of the trunk.
    4. Watch for Stress: Keep the tree away from direct heat sources (heaters, vents, direct sunlight). If needles start to feel brittle, it’s a sign the tree is thirsty.

    This is a fresh-cut, real Christmas tree and is not available for shipping via courier. We offer two options to get your tree home:

     

    Local Delivery We offer dedicated delivery of all tree sizes to our key service areas:

    • Greater Sydney
    • Southern Highlands
    • Blue Mountains
    • Illawarra & South Coast (to Kiama)

     

    Please use the postcode checker at the top of the page for an accurate delivery price.

     

    HQ Pickup (Mittagong, NSW) You can collect your tree directly from our off-site HQ in the centre of Mittagong. This is a great option for our customers who live just outside our delivery zones and are willing to make the scenic drive, including from areas like Canberra, Goulburn, the Central Coast, and the greater South Coast. Our headquarters is conveniently located near the Hume Highway on/off ramps.

     

    Preparing for a Safe Trip Home: Transporting your fresh-cut tree correctly is the first and most crucial step to ensuring it stays pristine for Christmas, especially during the Australian summer. Strong winds and direct sun can quickly dry out the needles.

     

    Please come prepared with the following:

     

    • A Drop Sheet or Tarp: To protect your car’s interior from any stray needles or moisture.
    • Old Towels or Blankets: We will gladly moisten your tree before you leave to create a humid “cocoon” for its journey. Wrapping it in damp towels is the perfect way to keep it fresh.

     

    Best Method: Inside Your Vehicle. Most of our trees will fit inside a standard car with the back seats flattened. This is the safest way to protect your tree from wind and sun. For utes, please ensure the tree is completely covered.

     

    A Note on Roof Racks: We strongly advise against transporting your tree on a roof rack. Even on a short trip, the combination of high-speed wind and sun can cause severe damage to the needles.
