Cupressus arizonica (syn. Hesperocyparis arizonica, Neocupressus arizonica), the Arizona Cypress is an evergreen conifer native to North America. Found in the high desert regions of the southwestern USA and northern Mexico. This medium-sized tree grows up to 25 metres tall, tolerates drier conditions and does best in a Mediterranean climate. Foliage ranges from green to blue-grey and produces a fragrant oil when crushed. Perfect specimen for a dry garden or areas with lower rainfall.
